Alex Elias Since Justin Rose switched to Axis1 in 2019, Rose ranks first in Strokes Gained: Putting in Major Championships, having totaled 44.114 Strokes Gained: Putting. Recently, at The 2022 U.S. Open, Rose told GolfWRX, "I've been using this putter for three years plus, and to be honest it's probably the main reason I left TaylorMade," when speaking of the Axis1. Rose continued, "A lot of that was about being fourteen clubs and I really wanted to use this product and that's what forced me into a change because I was that dead set on putting the Axis1 into play. I think my stats have backed up for sure. Since maybe 2019, I've putted the best of my career and again, I'm having a good putting year this year."
From 2004-2018, Rose ranked an average of 106.71 in Strokes Gained: Putting and since 2019, has ranked an average of 23.6. Currently, Rose is ranked 18th in SG: Putting, and as noted already ranks first in Strokes Gained: Putting in Major Championships since 2019. On the eve of the 150th Open, if Justin Rose is to contend at St. Andrews, where he finished T6 in 2015, Rose will need his trusted putter to come through.
