Alex Elias Maverick McNealy's success on the course speaks for itself, but his philanthropic work off the course should be continuously praised. McNealy embodies every characteristic of what it means to be an ambassador of the PGA Tour and recently spoke with AE Golf News about how he's making a difference off the course. Maverick McNealy said, "There are two things that have really given me a lot in my life. One is my education and two is golf. I've spent a lot of time with local high schools in Las Vegas. Del Sol Academy is one of them, which has an incredible coach. He's basically gotten thirty students to pick up a golf club who had never touched a club before. I'm working closely with that team trying to help them raise money to play in tournaments, and donating gear and clothes." McNealy continued, "More than anything it is about sharing the love of the game of golf. There's going to be a completely free junior clinic on January 8th, that I'm going to be doing with some PGA Tour pros and really just trying to get kids more interested in the game, as well as get them the facilities and equipment to play what I think is the greatest game ever." Additionally, Maverick McNealy started a fundraising campaign, called Birdies for Education. McNealy said, "I'm donating a $100 for every birdie I make and I have been doing that for the last few seasons. We've raised almost a million dollars, as others have signed up as well."
